Community guidelines

Draft for review.

MyFareej is where neighbours share news, plan events and look out for each other. These guidelines keep it useful and friendly. Your community's admins and community managers apply them, and anyone can report a post or comment that breaks them.

Be a good neighbour

  • Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not people. No insults, threats, harassment or hate based on nationality, religion, gender, age, disability or anything else.
  • Respect the UAE's laws, values and religions. Do not post content that offends religion, public morals or the state.
  • Keep it local. Post about your community: news, questions, lost and found, recommendations, events and notices.

Protect your neighbours' privacy

  • Don't share other people's phone numbers, unit numbers, car plates or other personal details.
  • Don't post photos or videos of people, especially children, without their permission.
  • Don't screenshot or share content outside MyFareej in a way that identifies a neighbour.

Keep it honest

  • Share information you believe is true, and say where it comes from when it matters.
  • Don't impersonate anyone, including your community's management.
  • Official notices come from community managers and admins and carry their label.

No selling or spam

  • MyFareej is not a marketplace. No advertising, sales, promotions or repeated posts.
  • One-off offers between neighbours, such as giving away furniture, are fine.

Safety first

MyFareej is not an emergency service. In an emergency call 999 (police), 998 (ambulance) or 997 (civil defence). Report building or facility problems to your community's management office.

Reporting

If something breaks these guidelines, use Report on the post or comment and choose a reason. The author never sees who reported it. Your community's admins and community managers review reports as soon as they can; they may leave the content up, remove it, or take further action.

What happens when guidelines are broken

Depending on how serious it is, staff may remove the content, warn the author, suspend the account or remove the person from the community. The person is told the reason by email.
